Section 76 of the Counter Terrorism Act came into force on February 16th 2009. It has effectively resulted in police officers not clued up on the actual letter of the law to increasingly use 'security concerns' to stop people filming or taking photographs of the wrong sort of thing.

When cameras become criminal, only criminals will have cameras.

During the G20 protests I resorted to old media as a way of recording events as they unfolded. and become a sort of artist liaison with the subjects of my portraits, mainly police on 'kettling' duty.
